Happy Friday, one and all! For those who may not know, Marianna, Florida, is an absolutely delightful small city nestled between Dothan, Alabama, and Panama City Beach, Florida. It offers a serene and effortless getaway brimming with charm and wonder to discover along the journey!
Where I Stayed:
For this excursion, I was thrilled to stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites, conveniently located right off the interstate and incredibly easy to find. It was an amazing choice: budget-friendly, cozy, and filled with all the amenities I could ever need. My room featured a lovely sitting area perfect for working and reading, an outstanding king-sized bed, two televisions, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. The bathroom was stocked with delightful Alice & Co. bath products in the shower, adding a special touch to my stay. I can’t praise the housekeeping staff enough; they were wonderful in keeping me supplied with fresh towels and ensuring my waste baskets were emptied daily!

Where I Ate:
Breakfast at the Fairfield was a delightful experience every morning! They provided a fantastic hot complimentary breakfast featuring eggs, turkey sausage, waffles, bagels, bread, yogurt, coffee, tea, and refreshing lemon and lime water. Although I couldn’t try everything during my stay, I was thrilled to discover even more scrumptious options available.
I had the delightful experience of dining at Sonny’s BBQ, conveniently just a short walk from my hotel! The food was absolutely fantastic, offering a delicious variety from brisket to ribs. If you find yourself in Marianna and are craving a hearty meal, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try!
In addition, Marianna still has a Ruby Tuesday with a vibrant salad bar, and I was absolutely thrilled to cap off the evening there on a refreshing note.

What I Did for Fun:
Since I was only there for one full day, I truly made the most of it! I swam in the refreshing hotel pool, enjoyed a scenic drive through the stunning countryside, took a delightful walk around the city, and treated myself to some delicious coffee at The Human Bean. The whole area was absolutely breathtaking, with picturesque farmland and serene views that enhanced my afternoon drive. Although I missed out on Florida Caverns State Park this time because I didn’t realize the cave tours ended at 4:00 p.m., I’m already excitedly planning a return trip so I can finally embark on that mini spelunking adventure I’ve been looking forward to! Lastly, for my fitness enthusiasts, the hotel boasted a cozy fitness room equipped with two treadmills, an elliptical, and a weight set, making it perfect for starting my morning energized without the need to drive to a gym.

This small adventure was incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to return and uncover even more of what this amazing area has to offer. Stay tuned for my exciting journey at Panama City Beach!
